EXPLORE THE SUB-TEAMS
Simulation (AI)
Develops and implements the racing algorithm for fast laps, and manages the simulation stack.
Control (AI)
Interfaces with the driverless platform issuing commands via a CAN interface. Handles the path planning logic for the first lap.
Vision (AI)
Gives the car the ability to see and map unknown environments. The team trains and implements low latency detection models as well as SLAM.
Business (Operations)
The business team develops and presents the Business Plan Presentation (BPP), a competition event assessing the corporate operations of the team.
Finance (Operations)
The finance team manages the teams money, creating the tools and procedures to ensure seamless distribution and tracking of cash across the team.
Simulations (Mechanical)
The simulations team is a specialist team focusing on the methodologies and application of simulation tools including CFD, FEA, LTS and Engine Simulation, ensuring results are accurate to inform vehicle design.
External Relations (Operations)
The external relations team manages and acquires high value corporate sponsors to power the teams operations, taking care of negotiations and fulfilment of deals.
High Voltage & Safety Systems (Electrical)
HVSS design and manage our cars high voltage systems including the battery, its safety systems and power delivery, prodicing their own PCB's and software.
Intake, Cooling & Exhaust (Mechanical)
IC&E develop and validate the cooling of our cars, whilst producing the intake and exhaust of our combustion vehicle, using 1D engine simulation, extensive dyno testing and advanced CFD.
Vehicle Dynamics (Mechanical)
VD manage our vehicles suspension and its dynamic behavior, utilising multi-body dynamics simulations, and advanced mechanical and composite design to produce responsive grippy performance.
Aerodynamics & Composites (Mechanical)
Owns the aero package from CFD correlation through to composite manufacture and track-side adjustment.
Chassis (Mechanical)
Design the vehicles frame and integrate all other assemblies to make a cohesive vehicle using CAD and FEA. Developing a full carbon fibre monocoque for 27/28.
Engine & Drivetrain (Mechanical)
Design and develop the ICE package including the engine and its internals, and the auxiliary systems to make it run. Use advanced mechanical design and FEA to produce reliable parts that produce power.
Electronics (Electrical)
Develop the low voltage electronics for our vehicles including the design of key PCB boards, integration of sensors and managing the data acquisition platform.
Media (Operations)
Media films, edits and produces all of our social media content whilst actively managing the teams pages to attract more members and corporate sponsors.
