MAN V

  • 35th out of 57 entries

  • Completed all dynamic events including Endurance

MAN VI

  • Our first sub 220kg car
  • Placed in the bottom end when drive flange failed during testing

MAN VIII

  • Best finish in team history (23rd, top 5 in UK)
  • Redesigned steering system
  • Completed all dynamic events

MAN IX

  • Re designed rear end.
  • Tubes braced over the engine, not around it.
  • Move from stressed to semi-stressed engine.
  • Suffered from excessive roll in cornering due to high COG

MAN XI

  • 55th out of 106 competitors (our then 2nd highest placing)
  • Redesigned intake and radiator system
  • New carbon fibre suspension system
  • Redesigned ergonomics

MAN XII

  • Best show in competition since MAN VIII
  • Performed in all dynamic events
  • Redesigned wheel assembly with new uprights

MAN XIV

  • Class 2 competition with a rolling chassis, later adopted by the team in 2020 parallel to class 1.
  • Best performance in cost event in team history with 91 points.
    Best business event performance in team history with 58 points.

MAN XV

  • Redesigned suspension
  • New carbon fibre nosecone and aluminium body panels
  • No anti roll bar
  • Engine issues caused it to not participate in the dynamic events

MAN XVI

  • Best acceleration run in team history: 4.9s
  • Equal second best placing in team history

MAN XVII

  • First international competition for Manchester Formula student – placed 31st
  • Redesigned radiator
  • Best design event performance with 90 points

MAN XIX

  • 36th out of 81 entries (2nd highest in team history)
  • Redesigned suspension
  • Improved mapping and wiring harness

FS2020 Virtual Dynamics Event

  • 16th place out of 34 entries
  • 2nd place in the sprint event
  • 8th place in Endurance finals

MAN XXIII

  • Our first entry post covid.
  • Whilst it didn’t pass scrutineering, it allowed us to re-learn a lot of what we lost during the pandemic.

MAN XXIV

  • Building on lessons learned the previous year and boasting the team’s most comprehensive aero package to date, the MAN24 achieved our best post-covid result.
  • Ultimately it suffered a driveshaft failure before completing any dynamic events, but hopes are high for its successor.
